Senior Homes is engaged in the commercialization concerning project development for assisted living groups and the operation of assisted living groups.

Senior Homes takes your privacy to heart and therefore takes all appropriate measures to protect your privacy in accordance with the Data Protection Act with respect to the Processing of Personal Data and as of May 25, 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (“AVG”), in both cases together with all legislation with which they are introduced or supplemented and any other applicable data protection or privacy legislation.

This privacy and cookie policy (hereinafter “Privacy Policy”) applies when Senior Homes conducts commercialization with respect to (new construction) projects of groups of assisted living units and the operation of groups of assisted living units (hereinafter referred to as “Services”), or of a third party for whom Senior Homes acts as external director (as for the entities listed below).

The intent is to clearly state what data Senior Homes collects when you visit Senior Homes’ websites or would provide us with your information by phone or enter into an agreement with us, or from a third party for whom Senior Homes acts as an outside director, what its purpose is, and what means you have to oppose this policy.

Senior Homes is active in the commercialization of project development of groups of residences and operation of groups of residences. Senior Homes carries out commercialization with respect to the above and wishes to inform customers with respect to groups of assisted living homes, communicate status of projects and inform about all new projects. Senior Homes wishes to inform you with regard to its projects because, as a potential investor or resident, you showed interest in our projects. It wishes to keep you informed regarding the development of the projects and also regarding any new projects.

How do we collect data? And what data is involved?

Personal data of Senior Homes can be shared with the above mentioned entities in Belgium and abroad.

In addition, Senior Homes may also receive data from advertisers, commercial partners, and/or associated entities.

In this way, Senior Homes collects and processes the following information for the purposes, as defined in Article 6 of this Privacy Policy:

  • Registration
    We collect data (for example, e-mail address, name, company, and telephone number) when you register on Senior Homes’ website to be informed by e-mail and/or telephone about advertisements, promotions or promotions. Also when you visit our events and register. When you contact us by phone or e-mail and leave your details to deliver matters related to our projects.

How do we use this data?

  • Senior Homes uses your data to keep track of the projects you are interested in and to further inform and update you regarding these projects. Also to keep you informed about new projects and interesting matters regarding groups of assisted living homes. Also for the execution of any agreements entered into.
  • Compliance with laws and regulations:

Information may be used to comply with laws and regulations incumbent upon Senior Homes, to deal with disputes and to have audits (auditors) carried out. Senior Homes may be required by law to disclose personal information as part of a dispute or litigation or if required by enforcement agencies. To comply with these laws and regulations, we may disclose this information without your knowledge, without your consent and even without notifying you. We reserve the right to challenge access to personal data by authorities.

With whom do we share your personal data?

This personal data is processed by Senior Homes, which is the data controller.

7.1. We may share your personal data with other entities for which Senior Homes performs Services (as included above).

7.2. Personal Data may be transferred to other companies, agents or service providers (“Suppliers”) to perform certain services on our behalf. For example, we use Suppliers to provide marketing, communications, infrastructure and IT services. In providing such services, these Suppliers may have access to your personal data or other information.

7.3. We reserve the right to transfer data, including personal data, in connection with any reorganization, restructuring, merger, sale or other transfer of business assets, provided that the receiving party agrees to process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7.4. We may also share or transfer personal data, including the content of your communications:

  • To comply with the law or respond to legal process or legal requests, including law enforcement and government agencies;
  • To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud and technical security issues; or
  • To protect Senior Homes’ rights, including the enforcement of our Terms of Use.

7.5. Your personal data may also be shared outside of Europe. Senior Homes undertakes to appoint only data controllers and/or processors outside the European Economic Area that provide adequate safeguards on security and protection of personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

7.6. Further, Senior Homes will not provide your data to other third parties without your prior consent, unless Senior Homes is required to do so by law or court order.

How will your personal data be secured?

We are committed to protecting the security of your data. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to appropriately protect your information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store personal information you share with us on computer systems that have limited access and are housed in secure buildings. No security system is guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of your data and assume no liability for unauthorized access to it. By providing data to us, you agree that we may communicate electronically with you about security, privacy and management issues related to your use of these Services.

What are your rights?

You have the right to have incomplete, incorrect, inappropriate or outdated personal information removed or corrected. If you believe that any information we have about you is incomplete, incorrect, inappropriate or out of date, please let us know. We will then correct or delete this information as necessary within the time limits established by law.

You have the right to know what personal data we have stored about you.
You have the right to oppose, free of charge, the transfer to third parties and the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. However, personalization is part of this processing for direct marketing.

Modification of Privacy Policy.

Senior Homes reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes and always know how your personal data may be used.

Applicable law

This Privacy Policy is governed by Belgian law.

Disputes relating to this Privacy Policy fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghent.
